And so in 2002, Geovanny Villacis set out to shape a service that would be responsive to customers from all different backgrounds. He did not need to look far for inspiration: a vast metropolis awash with cultural differences, symbolic of the country to which he himself arrived years ago. It made perfect sense to hire employees from varied cultural and ethnic backgrounds, each an expert in his/her region, allowing Don Geovanny to provide customized service minimizing errors and maximizing freshness.
We are food people: From caviar expertise gained at one of the largest importers in the country, to a rich family tradition in the banana trade, to shrimp farming, to staff that has worked in some of the finest restaurant kitchens in NY. Our staff has picked chanterelles in the fields of Belarus, raised rabbits in Ecuador and cared for steers on family farms in Colombia. We are proud to share this knowledge and experience with you. Don Geovanny works, whenever possible, with sources that raise their product naturally and humanely. Don Geovanny supports the preservation of the world’s threatened species and only deals with caviar suppliers who work in accordance with CITES, FDA and US Customs. We guarantee that the caviar we provide to you constitutes no illegal threat to the sturgeon supply of the world. All other gourmet foods sold by Don Geovanny are imported or shipped in compliance with domestic and international laws of trade.
